About WoWKits Toddler Themes

WoW Kits Theme Units for Toddlers are unlike any other commercially available toddler themes. We've taken the latest research on how toddlers learn, combined it with practical experience in toddler classrooms and added that special touch that makes our learning materials so simple and fun to use.

Our Theme Units for Toddlers are:

  • Available as a PDF download making them inexpensive and immediately accessible
  • Developmentally appropriate for ages 18-36 months
  • Designed for classroom use

Each unit includes:

  • Information on how to create a great theme for toddlers
  • A Toddler Interest Survey
  • A letter home to families
  • 16 hands-on activities for toddlers that develop important language, sensory, motor and social/emotional skills
  • Tips for extending/modifying the activities to suit individual children and encourage cognitive development

Our Philosophy on Teaching Toddlers Through Themes

Toddlers are naturally curious and learn through everything they do. They are also independent learners, not yet ready for large group instruction or traditional group activities.  Our toddler themes give teachers the tools they need to create a child-centered, hands-on thematic unit specifically suited for the current needs, interests and abilities of their group of children.

With WoWKits theme units for toddlers, teachers can:

  • Use the Toddler Interest Survey to get a feel for each child's individual needs, emerging skills and interests
  • Get parents involved through the letter home to families
  • Follow the step-by-step guide to create an activity plan that is just right for your group of toddlers
  • Pick and choose from a variety of fun, developmentally appropriate activities all centered around a theme
  • Explore activities again and again, as toddlers do naturally
  • Engage the "whole child" in learning and self-discovery

Our toddler themes are designed to last one to two weeks and correlate with our Terrific Topics thematic units for preschool and kindergarten. Most activities require items found in the majority of classroom environments (paper, crayons, balls, dolls, etc.) and some require no materials at all.
